Projects

Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved:

Feed the Homeless at Good Samaritan Shelter – Santa Maria

Each year from January to June, our club serves hot meals with dessert to families staying at the Good Samaritan Shelter as they work toward stable housing. Key Club students join us in serving, bringing youthful energy and compassion to this important community service.

Thanks to funding from the CNH Children’s Fund, Happiness Habits Kits we distributed to youth during the meal service. Each kit includes age-appropriate books on emotional wellness, mindfulness activities, healthy snacks, and resources for families to support children’s mental health.

Back-to-School Shopping Spree

In August, over 125 local youth participate in our Back-to-School Shopping Spree at Old Navy. Local youth received school supplies, courtesy of KIA, breakfast thanks to Chick-fil-A, and clothing at a discounted rate thanks to Old Navy. Additionally, we are grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Santa Maria Valley, the Altrusa Club of Golden Valley and Kiwanis International for their contributions toward making this program a success. We are honored to work with these community partners.

Thanksgiving Baskets

In November, club members deliver baskets to families. The food basket included the meat of their choice (turkey/ham/chicken) along with a $100 gift card to FoodsCo so that they could buy the food items that they truly need.
