Our committees are the heart of Kiwanis. Each one brings people together to lead, serve, and make a lasting difference in our community. Members are encouraged to join one or more committees to share their talents, build friendships, and strengthen the impact of our club.


Community & Service

Back-to-School Shopping Spree (Chair: Rudy Gutierrez): Provide clothing, backpacks, and breakfast for students in need.

Community Services (Chair: Marisol Cruz): Oversee local service projects that support people of all ages, from youth to seniors.

Kiwanis for Kids, Inc. (Chair: Donna Beal): Provide grants and sponsorship opportunities to strengthen our community.

Spiritual Aims & Bell Ringing (Chair: Bob Doyle): Partner with faith-based organizations and seasonal projects that bring hope and connection.


Communications

Newsletter, Social Media, Website – Keep members and the community informed and connected.

Club History – Preserve and share the story of our club’s legacy.


Club Operations & Member Engagement

  • Board of Directors (Chair: Donna Beal): Guide operations, uphold the vision, and lead initiatives.
  • Membership (Chair: Susan Moats): Recruit new members and retain current ones.
  • Succession Planning (Chair: Julie Posada): Prepare leaders for future roles and contact interested members.
  • Sunshine Committee (Chair: Eileen Geraci): Send greetings and provide support to members and families during times of need.
  • House Committee (Chair: Vacant): Create a welcoming environment by setting up meeting spaces, supplies, and decorations.
  • Programs & Guest Speakers (Chair: Dawn Jackson): Bring engaging speakers and presentations to club meetings.
  • Interclubs (Chair: Elaine Guzman): Build fellowship and share ideas with neighboring Kiwanis clubs.

Fundraising & Events

BBQ Functions (Chair: Randy Beal): Raise funds while supporting community groups through BBQ events.

Benefit Drawing (Chair: Anna Rubcic): Annual reverse drawing to support the Kiwanis for Kids Foundation.

Club Auction & Holiday Bake Sale (Chair: Anna Rubcic): A fun auction event to raise funds for club operations.

Guzman Gallop (Chair: Glenn Prezkop): A horse-themed dice game fundraiser for administrative support.


Youth & Leadership Programs

  • Aktion Club (Chair: Julie Posada): A service and leadership program empowering adults with disabilities.
  • Circle K – Allan Hancock College (Chair: Donna Beal): Engages college students in leadership, service, and fellowship.
  • Builders Club – Arellanes (Chair: Glenn Prezkop): Introduces junior high students to leadership through service.
  • K-Kids – Bonita (Chair: Glenn Prezkop): Introduces elementary students to service leadership.
  • Key Clubs – Pioneer Valley (Chair: Santiago Banuelos), Santa Maria High (Chair: Gaylen Clark), Santa Maria Rec & Parks (Chair: Santiago Banuelos): High school students leading with energy, teamwork, and service.
  • Scholarships & Youth Services (Chairs: Anna Rubcic, Marjorie Hord): Award scholarships and support youth-focused programs across the Santa Maria Valley.
